Fairhaven Livable Streets Bike and Brew!
What better way to enjoy summer than with a bike ride to West Island? Join the Fairhaven Livable Streets Committee on Sat. July 13 at 5 PM as we ride down Sconticut Neck Road. This will be a ride that's both a bit later - starting at 5pm to escape the worst of the July sun & heat - and on the long side - about 9 miles round-trip. We'll meet at the Fairhaven Recreation Center, ride through the Little Bay Conservation area, then pick up Sconticut Neck Road. On the way down, we'll stop for a quick visit at the Fairhaven BMX Pump Track at Macomber/Pimental Field on Bernese Street. Then we'll head down the Neck, hang a left at the causeway, and stop at Off the Hook for a cold drink and/or a bite to eat. Whenever the group is rested & ready, we'll ride back to the Recreation Center. More details here.
August 16 from 5 - 7:30 PM After a few longer rides, we'll take it easy for August's Bike & Brew, riding across the bridge to enjoy New Bedford's Summer Sound Series! We'll meet at Fort Phoenix near the tennis courts at 5pm and be to Summer Sound Series in time for Doc Finnegan's Circus to perform at 5:30pm, followed by Gina and the Red Eye Flight Crew at 6:30pm. Once we've parked our bikes, you're welcome to stick with the group or do your own thing. You can bike back with the group around 7:30pm (scary to already thinking about shorter days, but sunset will be 7:43pm), or bike back on your own at your leisure. As always, our Bike & Brew rides are designed to be safe & enjoyable for all ages & abilities. Please invite friends, family, neighbors & coworkers!
Beach Cleanups with Mary Lou from Be the Solution to Pollution
Storytime and Beach Cleanup at Fort Phoenix in Fairhaven on Monday, July 22 from 9 AM - 12 PM
(meet at gazebo and bring a blanket)
