Please email your state legislators and let them know you'd like to see a climate education omnibus bill pass this legislative session that incorporates H.3887 and prioritizes the importance of teaching climate justice and supporting teachers in developing curriculum. Co-hosted by Citizens' Climate Lobby, Our Climate, and Massachusetts Youth Climate Coalition.

Interested in a speaker on the climate crisis? Here are just a few of the speakers we have available for free. You can request a speaker by emailing [email protected].
Mona Phillips earned her MBA from Cornell University and has extensive Finance, Planning and Management experience. She’s worked in the profit and non-profit worlds and as co-chair of Climate Reality Massachusetts Southcoast brings a deep appreciation of the natural world to her work for the chapter. Mona is a birding enthusiast and avid gardener and her focus is sustainability through available technologies and renewable energy solutions. Mona presents on the cause and effect of climate change and the solutions accessible to ALL communities and community members.
John Bullard was the Mayor of New Bedford from 1986-1992. He headed the first federal Office of Sustainable Development for the Clinton-Gore Administration. He later served as Regional Administrator for NOAA Fisheries. John is a longtime Climate Reality leader who has given over 100 presentations on the climate crisis based on Al Gore's Truth in Ten.
Eileen Brennan, is the former owner of "Start at the Bottoms," a retail shop in New Bedford with the primary focus of reducing, reusing, repurposing and refilling. She was trained as a Climate Reality Leader in the 2023 virtual training program. Eileen can present on products and tips to help you live sustainably.

Laura Gardner, a National Board Certified Teacher in Library Media, is a Teacher Librarian in Dartmouth, MA and co-chair of Climate Reality Massachusetts Southcoast. She also bikes to work every day! Laura was trained in 2019 in Minneapolis and is a mother of two. Laura can speak on the aggregation program (opt up), as well as the climate crisis in general, and the goals and achievements of our chapter.
Mary Lou earned a B.S. in Early Childhood Education from Bridgewater State College in 1992. She has been a professional nanny since 1994. In 2011 she started the group, Be the Solution to Pollution, in order to clean up South Coast shorelines and teach the public about plastic pollution. Mary Lou was trained as a Climate Reality Leader at the 2020 Virtual Training. Mary Lou primarily presents on the plastic crisis and sustainable options for a better future.
